Mueller Family Vacation

Yes, the Muellers went on a family vacation! Yeah! We had a great time. The following are pictures with commentary following each picture... Here we are in the airport in Omaha... The kids flew really well. Micah shows his enjoyment of wheels, while Naomi plays with her "friends" Clifford, Cleo, and T-Bone. Naomi found this big cow in Manitowoc, where we boarded the big boat SS Badger to cross the great inland sea known as Lake Michigan. Oh, he's reading a book... Yes, I took some time on vacation to read a little bit. Which book specifically? The Savage Wars of Peace by Max Boot. It's a good read, if you like military history.... But I digress... Look for a post about Savage Wars of Peace on my miniature wargaming page soon... Anyway... Here's Naomi and Daddy watching the departure. It was very foggy that day, in fact, every two minutes the Badger had to blow her horn to ward off other ships that might get in the way... I'd stay out of the Badger's way too, if I were a little boat. Naomi (and T-Bone) really enjoyed the whole trip on the SS Badger, except when the horn blew. The fog did clear off, however, so that was really good. When we got to Frankfort, we had to do some demolition, some construction, and some inundation. That's pretty much par for the course for Nebraska Muellers.
Speaking of Par, playing golf was fun. We won't mention my score... I think it was so high that I forgot it. Seventy something? I dunno. Naomi and "Mutti" had a fun time together... And here's Grampy and Micah. We also got to see Grandma Mueller! It was a lot of fun. Uncle Bob got roasted. We heard a wonderful song from Uncle Jim, and a great time was had by all. Uncle Bill is the next one to turn 50, and then it's... uh oh... my turn! Thankfully I have 19 years. 19 years! ugh! On the way home, we got a picture of something we've been observing for quite some time now. Micah, our son, really likes cars. Any kind of car, truck, he really likes motorcycles. Anything that has motors and moves on wheels, this guy likes. Here we are in an oasis over the Tri-State in Chicagoland. He sat and watched the trucks and cars and cycles going by so that mommy and daddy could eat. It's wonderful when you know what they want and can give it to them... :)
We also got to see the Bergelins, the Sharenbrochs, and Harvey and Marrianne. It was a really fun time.
More next time on the Fair, 2008.
